📖 Section 1: Artist Bio

DPCY (pronounced “deep-see-Y”) is a genre-blending Nigerian producer, vocalist, and sonic storyteller signed to Lucid’s Records, where rhythm meets reflection. Born Onifade Oladapo Tolu on April 18, 1999, in Lagos, Nigeria, DPCY crafts emotionally charged soundscapes that blur the lines between Afrobeats, soul-pop, R&B, and experimental hip-hop.

Raised in a musical household and nurtured in the church from the age of five, his spiritual foundation and cinematic inspiration—especially the film Let It Shine—ignited a lifelong passion for music. That passion is now a calling.

His sound fuses hypnotic Afrobeat drums, soulful samples, and layered textures that feel like dreams in motion. Whether delivering silky vocal runs or hard-hitting rhythms, every track pulses with presence, vulnerability, and intention—built for healing, movement, and release.

DPCY made his debut under Lucid’s Records with the single “Falling” on January 23, 2025, followed by the textured and experimental “Loud Ham” released on April 18, 2025. His growing catalog also includes unreleased singles like “4Cup,” “Legitimate,” and “Good Vibe.” He also contributed the track “Dance” to the Pass Da Mic albuma Lucid’s Records group project that showcases the label’s rising talents through collaborative storytelling and sonic synergy.

In addition to his own music, DPCY’s sonic creations have been featured in Lucid Serenity’s Mindful Twerking (MTW) workshops, where movement meets meditation. His atmospheric beats naturally complement MTW’s mission to promote healing through embodied mindfulness. While not yet an official collaborator, plans are already in motion for a deeper partnership between DPCY and MTW—bridging rhythm and intentional movement to explore how sound can ground, liberate, and connect. By day, he teaches in the classroom—helping young minds explore creativity and voice, while nurturing the next generation of storytellers.

Deeply influenced by artists like The WeekndKnxwledge, and Kaytranada, DPCY believes music is more than entertainment—it’s identity, memory, and medicine. When he’s not creating, he’s traveling, collecting new energy for the next story he’ll tell in sound.

With Lucid’s Records behind him, DPCY is stepping confidently into a new era of collaboration, evolution, and impact—inviting listeners to feel music from the inside out
