Part 1: The Leap
This chapter traces the origins of my relationship with dance—from childhood expression to the creation of Mindful Twerking, a workshop blending movement and behavioral health.
In 2023, after witnessing malpractice within the mental health system, I made a radical decision to leave my full-time career and pursue dance professionally. What began as a leap of faith quickly became a journey marked by loss, instability, and resilience—losing my apartment, navigating homelessness, enduring isolation, and still choosing to show up for dance.
Through moments of fear, manifestation, physical pain, and unwavering commitment, this episode captures the emotional and physical realities of becoming—when survival, healing, and purpose collide.
Part One is not just about dance.
It is about choosing movement when everything else falls apart.
Part 2: Learning to See Myself
In this chapter, the journey deepens from survival into self-awareness.
Dance becomes more than movement—it becomes therapy, discipline, and permission. Through professional heels training, I confront the habits I built as a child performer, the emotional armor I learned to wear, and the difficulty of truly seeing myself in the mirror.
As I push through intermediate training, private lessons, and repeated attempts to complete the professional shoot, the world outside the studio grows heavier—family conflict, financial loss, displacement, and the lingering weight of trauma. Yet, each obstacle sharpens my resolve rather than breaking it.
This episode reveals the unseen labor behind growth: long walks to class, nights spent in transit, fractured family ties, and the quiet decision to keep going when no one else is watching.
Part Two is about reclaiming control over body, voice, and narrative.
It is the moment when healing stops being theoretical and becomes embodied.

This music video marks a pivotal moment in my journey as a creative director, dancer, and label founder.
In June 2024, in collaboration with
Sock Studios, we supported the production of this project as part of an emerging artist challenge—"The SMC Challenge" where talent, vision, and opportunity intersected.
For me, this wasn’t just about music.
It was about building a system where artists could be seen, supported, and developed without being boxed into traditional industry models. This collaboration represents what it looks like when creativity, community, and intention come together.
But behind every creative moment, there’s a deeper story.
What unfolded during this process revealed powerful dynamics around collaboration, power, and triangulation—lessons that shaped the evolution of Lucid Records and the Lucid Vault.
If you want the full story behind this collaboration, the interruptions, and the psychology behind what happened, read the mini story on the blog:
